What is Container Loading Supervision
Container Loading Supervision is an on-site service performed while your goods are loaded into the shipping container. An independent inspector stands at the factory or consolidator's warehouse and witnesses the process from the empty container to the sealed doors. For US and EU buyers of finished consumer goods, this is the last practical checkpoint before the container is on the water, when correcting a shortage or a mixed order is still possible. It works best as the final step after the product-level checks in our quality control inspection services.
What we check during loading
- Carton count verified against the packing list, with units per carton spot-checked
- Random carton opening to confirm product, model, quantity and condition against your order
- Container condition, cleanliness, odour, moisture and structural integrity before stuffing
- Seal number recorded before and after loading and photographed for the report
- Proper stacking, weight distribution, dunnage and lashing to reduce transit damage
- Weather protection and safe handling of retail-ready cartons during the loading window
When to book loading supervision
A container loading inspection in China is booked for the exact date and time window when the container arrives at the factory or the consolidator's warehouse. Send us the packing list, booking confirmation and any special stuffing instructions in advance, and confirm with your supplier that an inspector will attend. If goods fail a pre-shipment inspection (PSI) and are re-worked, supervision should be re-booked once the corrected cartons are ready.
Why loading supervision matters
- Prevents shortage, substitution and wrong-carton claims before the goods leave China
- Reduces transit damage through correct stuffing, lashing and moisture control
- Provides photo and time-stamped evidence of the whole process for insurance and dispute cases
- Protects against container contamination, mixed orders and improper sealing

Container Loading Inspection in China: Frequently Asked Questions
What does China container loading supervision include?
The inspector checks the empty container's condition, verifies carton quantity and condition against the packing list, opens random cartons, supervises stacking and lashing, and records the seal number applied at the end. Attendance runs from the empty container until the doors are sealed, with each step photographed.
When should container loading inspection happen?
On the loading day itself, with the inspector present for the entire stuffing process. Book two to three working days ahead so we can assign an inspector based near the factory; a fixed-fee quote is returned within one working day.
Do you provide photos during container loading?
Yes. The report includes dated photos of the empty container, carton condition, random openings, stacking inside the container and the applied seal number, so you can verify the shipment without travelling to the factory.
