Quality Control Inspection

What is quality control inspection?

Quality control inspection is the on-site, independent checking of product quality, quantity, workmanship and packaging against your approved specifications. An inspector visits the factory, draws a random sample from the finished lot, and checks it against your specification sheet and approved sample. A proper quality control inspection uses random AQL sampling to decide, with statistical confidence, whether a production lot should be accepted or rejected.

For importers of consumer goods, quality control inspection in China solves a simple problem: you cannot fly in for every order, and once a container has sailed, defects become your cost. A third-party check before shipment puts that risk back with the factory, while goods can still be re-worked or re-made.

Our quality control inspection services

Each service covers a different production stage, and most buyers combine two or three per order:

A typical electronics order runs IPC, DPI and PSI; apparel buyers often rely on DPI plus PSI; toys and housewares frequently need only a well-timed PSI. See a real during-production check of an air fryer production run and a full inspection of electric scooters.

The AQL standard we apply

Every quality control inspection follows internationally recognised AQL sampling (ANSI/ASQ Z1.4 / ISO 2859-1), with typical acceptance levels of Critical 0, Major 2.5 and Minor 4.0 unless you specify otherwise. Lot size and inspection level set the sample size: for a 5,000-unit order at General Inspection Level II we draw 200 units and accept or reject against the AQL tables. Stricter settings are common for toys, children's products and first orders from a new factory. Model your own sample size and acceptance numbers in the AQL calculator.

Quality Control Inspection in China: Frequently Asked Questions

How does quality control in China work for importers?

Send the purchase order, specification, approved sample details and packing list; we quote a fixed fee within one working day and assign a certified inspector based near the factory. On the agreed date the inspector draws the AQL sample, checks workmanship, function, safety, quantity and packaging, records every defect with photos, and issues a pass or fail result. You receive the English report within 24 hours and decide whether to release the balance payment.

What does quality control for China manufacturing cover?

The checklist follows your product category. For electronics and housewares: function and safety checks, power-cable and plug inspection, and a run test on sampled units. For apparel: measurements, stitching, seams, fabric defects and care labels. For furniture and toys: materials, structure, stability, small parts and packaging fit. Quantity, carton markings, barcodes and shipping marks are verified on every order.

How fast can a QC inspection be arranged in China?

Most bookings are confirmed within 48 to 72 hours: send the details, receive a fixed-fee quote within one working day, and the visit follows once the factory confirms readiness. Inspectors live in the same industrial regions as your suppliers, so a QC inspection in China needs no travel planning, and urgent slots around Ningbo, Shanghai, Dongguan and Shenzhen can be filled within 24 to 48 hours.
